Warcry and a scared vegetable .... what?

10-02-2022

I planned to get back into Mordheim this year, but after playing Kill Team in the 40K universe I really wanted to give Warcry, basically Kill Team in the Warhammer Fantasy setting, a try.

My gaming buddy made a great looking battlefield from scratch, we got the rulebooks and gave it a go. We had a great evening playing three games in a row filled with fast paced action and hilariously cool cinematic moments of Undead being pounded to dust by Ogres!

What's even better is that I can use my slowly growing collection of Undead mini's in both Warcry and Mordheim.

The Undead warband I used for all three games we played. The Vampire Lord and Necromancer are some of my favorite models and it feels great to play them in a game of Warcry where they can actually do some really awesome stuff. Raising or healing the skeletons, throwing around magic missiles or punching a giant Ogre in the face .... they did it all!

Sometimes you see a miniature that has absolutely no practical use in one of the games you are playing or plan on playing, but you find it so freaking cool you just have to paint it!

Meet Edvard the turnip .... bonus art geek point if you can guess where the sculptor got his inspiration from ;-)

That's it for now, but I'm working on several painting projects at once. One is even for a tournament that's being held in march, so lots more to follow in the upcoming weeks!

All pictures courtesy of a lousy photographer and the good ones are from other people or the internet ;-)
