Trading old boardgames

09-07-2020

I've been playing tabletop wargames and boardgames for quite some time now (going on 25+ years now), with the occasional break from the hobby like we all have done from time to time. This means I have some hidden gems that are mainly collecting dust and being forgotten about instead of getting played.

Last week I met a guy at work and we starting chatting about our hobbies. Turns out he also used to be a keen miniature painter and collector, but not so much of a wargamer. He has now turned his attention more to playing and collecting boardgames together with his kids.

By the end of the day we had even made a trade: some of my old and even incomplete boardgames for some of his unpainted miniatures.

Aside from the more mundane boardgames like Risk and such he was very glad to get his hands on the two little gems:

Both of the games are still in very good state, but I kept the miniatures and some of the dice. So he gets all the counters, booklets and assorted tiles.

I really loved these games, but the sad reality is that they don't get played anymore. So when I got the chance to trade them for some "new" 40K miniatures I didn't hesitate!

As I still need to make the drive over to his house to deliver the games and pick up the models I will not yet reveal what I'm getting out of this trade ....

The hint I can give is that at least two of the models are big and I mean BIG :-)

All pictures courtesy of a lousy photographer and the good ones are from other people or the internet ;-)
