Painting an Imperial Knight

07-09-2020

This was by far the biggest painting project I've ever done, but it wasn't as hard to do as I had made myself believe it would be.

The key to painting a model of this size to a decent tabletop standard is to "keep it simple".

Now I could try to explain how I went about painting this model, but there's a better way: I'll show you what inspired me:

Guy from Midwinter Minis does an incredible job of explaining how to get this massive model painted and ready for the tabletop! All I had to do after watching his tutorial was swap out the white for the colours I wanted to use.

On most of the metal bits I used weathering powder to give it a rusted look, but that's about as far as I deviated from his tutorial.

Very happy with the result, although it took me quite some hours more than the 4 Guy needed to complete his knight ...

After having so much fun with building and painting this model I'll certainly be adding more Imperial knights to my collection in the future!
